Timothy A. Rodrigues is a Deputy Chief in the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Office of General Counsel.  Mr. Rodrigues supervises the Washington, D.C. attorneys of the Legislative & Correctional Issues (LCI) Branch.  LCI provides guidance to BOP executives on constitutional operation of the federal prison system, drafts and reviews legislation affecting agency operations, and coordinates BOP federal regulations.  LCI also coordinates BOP’s imposition of special administrative measures for inmates associated with serious violence, national security offenses, and terrorism.  Mr. Rodrigues has spent the bulk of his agency career working on-site in federal detention centers, providing guidance and litigation support to Wardens and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, while also serving as local liaison with the U.S. Courts and defense bar.
